Tonic Liberty is was designed as a brand for hard working folks in rural areas who wanted a quality product at a price they could afford. This was created as a sub brand of Nectar Craft, designed to go after people who “didn’t want anything too fancy.” Instead of glass cartridges and high end packaging, we used recyclable plastic clamshells and inserts to keep the presentation and price more modest. The tagline “No nonsense cannabis” was a response to a lot of the fluffy claims being made in the market.

While the brand was in its formative stages, we ensured that lots of retail buyers and workers received samples.  Because the client didn’t want to spend much launching this, most of the marketing budget went towards giving out samples.  And it worked!  Within a few months the Tonic Liberty brand was selling more volume of cartridges than Nectar Craft.

I employed an illustrator (Heather Elder) to help with the creation of the brand.  Deliverables included a website, sales collateral for stores, a print ad in the stranger, an instagram seeded with content, and these brand guidelines:
